The Montpelier is the model people stop and look at. Its upper clubhouse has a peaked roof, a full working front door and bay windows — closer to a small cottage than a play platform. The door opens onto a balcony, which doubles as the launch point for the 8-foot wave slide and the entry to the monkey bars.

It’s built from cedar, a wood that naturally resists decay, finished in an inviting light brown stain. Stain saturation and colour vary slightly from set to set, which is normal for real timber.

Two ways up

A wide flat-step ladder for younger children who want the direct route, or hand-over-hand along the monkey bars for kids who’d rather earn the climb.

Where they take a break

This is what separates the Montpelier from simpler sets. A snack bar window with attached bench seating gives kids somewhere to sit for juice and snacks without coming inside. Below the clubhouse, a shaded sandbox area is set up for quieter sensory play — sand isn’t included.
