Assembly Is Included Free

Every product we sell includes professional assembly at no additional cost, anywhere in the 48 contiguous United States. There is no minimum order value and no regional surcharge.

Most retailers charge $400–$1,500 for this service, or leave you to build the structure yourself over a weekend. We include it.

What’s Included

Our team will:

  • Deliver and unload all cartons
  • Move components to your chosen site
  • Assemble the structure completely
  • Anchor it as specified by the manufacturer
  • Break down and remove all packaging and waste
  • Walk you through the finished structure before leaving

What’s Not Included

The following fall outside our assembly service:

  • Ground preparation — levelling, grading, or excavation
  • Concrete pads, footings, or decking
  • Tree, stump, shrub or fence removal
  • Dismantling or removing an existing structure
  • Electrical work — required for outdoor kitchens with refrigerators and for any PowerPort installation
  • Plumbing or gas connections
  • Landscaping, mulch, or safety surfacing
  • Permit applications or HOA submissions

If we assess that your site requires preparation, we’ll tell you when we call so you have time to arrange it before your appointment.

Scheduling

Within 5 business days of your order, we’ll call to schedule your appointment and confirm your site is ready.

Assembly typically takes place 15–25 business days from your order date. During spring and early summer — our busiest period — scheduling in some regions may extend to 30–40 business days.

Appointments are Monday to Friday during business hours. We don’t schedule weekend installations.

Preparing Your Site

Before your appointment, please make sure:

The site is level. A slope of more than roughly 6 inches across the footprint will prevent safe installation. Structures cannot be assembled on significantly uneven ground.

The site is clear. Remove furniture, planters, toys, garden equipment and debris from the footprint and a working perimeter around it.

There is access. Our vehicle needs to reach your property, and the crew needs a clear route from the unloading point to the site. Narrow gates, steep slopes, retaining walls and soft ground can prevent access — please tell us in advance if any apply.

Underground utilities are marked. Anchoring requires driving stakes or fixings into the ground. In the US, call 811 before your appointment for free utility marking. This is your responsibility, and we cannot anchor where utility lines may be present.

Permits and approvals are in place. See below.

On Assembly Day

Someone aged 18 or over must be present throughout the appointment — to confirm placement before we begin, and to accept the completed structure.

Most assemblies are completed in a single day. Larger structures — outdoor kitchens, large pergolas, the Animal Enclosure XL — may require two days, and we’ll tell you in advance if yours does.

We’ll confirm the exact position with you before starting. Once a structure is assembled and anchored, relocating it is not a simple task, so please be certain of placement.

Weather

We may need to reschedule for heavy rain, snow, high winds, frozen ground, or extreme heat. This is a safety decision for our crew and a quality decision for your structure. If we reschedule for weather, we’ll offer the next available date at no cost to you.

If We Can’t Complete the Assembly

If our team arrives and cannot proceed because:

  • The site is not level or not cleared
  • Access is inadequate for our vehicle or crew
  • Nobody aged 18 or over is present
  • Required permits are not in place
  • Utilities have not been marked

we will need to reschedule, and a return visit fee may apply. We’ll always try to work with you first — the call before your appointment exists precisely to avoid this situation.

Permits and HOA Approval

Obtaining any permits or homeowners’ association approvals required in your area is your responsibility.

This applies particularly to wall-mounted pergolas, which attach permanently to your house and commonly require a building permit, and to outdoor kitchens with electrical requirements.

Please confirm your local requirements before ordering. We cannot refund delivery and assembly costs on an order that can’t be installed due to local restrictions.

Electrical Requirements

Products fitted with a PowerPort™, and outdoor kitchens with refrigerators, require a dedicated GFCI-protected outdoor circuit. No power source is supplied, and running one is work for a licensed electrician.

Our team will install the unit but will not make electrical connections. Please arrange your electrical supply separately.

Safety Standards

All structures are anchored and assembled to the manufacturer’s specifications. This matters: the wind and snow load ratings on our pergolas, bars and outdoor kitchens apply only when the structure is anchored as specified.

Playsets and playhouses are assembled to meet the ASTM standards stated on each product page. Recommended safety zones around play equipment are the homeowner’s responsibility to maintain.

After Assembly

Our team inspects every component during the build, so most issues are found and resolved on the spot.

If you notice a problem afterwards, contact us within 5 business days with your order number, a description, and photographs.

Assembly workmanship is covered by us. The products themselves carry the manufacturer’s 5-year warranty — see our Warranty & Replacement Policy.

Returns After Assembly

Because we assemble on site, products cannot be returned in unassembled condition. Returns following assembly are assessed case by case — please contact us and we’ll work through it with you.

This does not affect your rights where a product is defective, damaged, or not as described.
