Aspen Playhouse

The Aspen isn’t a climbing structure — it’s a little house, and that’s the appeal. Everything sits at ground level, which makes it the right choice for younger children and for yards where an elevated playset would be too much.

The door

A hinged Dutch door with a working knob and latch, set with an oval window. The top half opens on its own, which kids use constantly — for handing things through, for announcing arrivals, for keeping an eye on the yard.

The kitchen

Fully equipped rather than token. There’s a toy sink, a cutting board, a plastic knife, and a basket of sliceable produce, along with utensils and accessories. Enough for actual pretend cooking rather than a single stovetop decal.

The snack bar

A side serving table with a built-in picnic bench. Kids ring the dinner bell, serve through the window, and sit down to eat — it’s the feature that keeps them out there through the afternoon.

The details that sell it

Wide windows with decorative curtains, so the interior feels cosy and you can still see in from the house. A mailbox by the door. Pretend sconce lights. A small picket fence. And flowerpot holders mounted under the front windows for anyone who wants to grow something — flowers and pots aren’t included.

Panelized construction

This is what makes the Aspen manageable to build. The walls, roof sections and gable arrive as complete pre-assembled panels rather than as loose boards to be fastened one at a time. Fewer pieces, fewer fasteners, and far less time on the lawn with an instruction manual. Everything is pre-cut, pre-drilled and pre-stained, with a printed manual in the box.

Materials and finish

100% cedar, naturally resistant to rot and decay. Pre-stained light brown with white trim; stain saturation and colour vary naturally between units.
